Marie Kachelhoffer studied Domestic Science at UOFS and started painting in 1989. She then attended art classes in watercolour painting and attended evening courses at the Northwest University. She held exhibitions in Parys in the Free State, as well as the library in Potchefstroom.
Nowadays she paints from her studio in Amanzimtoti and exhibits at La Lucia Mall, Innibos, and Dolosfees as well as Art In the Park. She is also exhibiting at the Art on Kingsway gallery. Her newfound passion is to create a colourburst painting with ink or high flow acrylics and inks. She loves painting fish, wildlife, birds, etc in unusual colours, for instance red lions or dark blue zebras and turquoise elephants!
An demonstration was given by the artist in SA Artist Magazine and also features in the SA Artist calendar.
